Wednesday October 11 – History of 4-H Club

History of the Victory Workers
4-H Club!

Have you ever wondered what our local 4-H club is all about? Perhaps what happens there, what skills are taught, or how it came to be?   If so, the Pittsfield Historical Society’s October program is for you! Please join us on Wednesday, Oct. 11, as the Victory Workers 4-H Club tells the story about its long-standing history of the 80-year-old club.  Ruth Kimball, mother to Pittsfield natives, Corine Miller and Carolyn Davis, founded the Victory Workers. Thanks to them, we have access to so many treasured memories. We will hear from them, from our current youth club members, and other guests to tell you the story.

Pittsfield Balloon Rally Craft Fair Registration

40th Annual
Suncook Valley Rotary Club Hot Air Balloon Rally
Craft Fair – Sponsored by the Pittsfield Historical Society (PHS)

DATE: Saturday, August 6
TIME: 10 am until dusk
PLACE: Drake Field, Pittsfield, NH No dogs or smoking allowed on the field.
FEE: $75.00 for a 10 ft. X 10 ft. area. (If the application and fee are returned before Friday, April 29, the fee will be reduced to $60.00.) We have space for approximately 35 crafters on a first-come/first-served basis. Crafters are responsible for providing their own tent, tables, and chairs. There is a $25.00 fee for any returned check. Unfortunately, electricity is not available on the field, so please plan accordingly.
SET-UP: 7:30 – 9:30 am. We ask that craft areas be set up by 9:45 am. For the safety of others, and because of an early balloon launch Saturday morning, absolutely no crafters will be allowed to take their vehicle into the park before 7:30 am. This will be strictly enforced by security. If the balloon flight is delayed, this set-up time may be extended.
BREAK-DOWN: Crafters may break down any time after 7 pm. Vehicles may be loaded anytime thereafter. Vehicles may not be allowed to move from the field until after the fireworks – approximately 9:45 to 10 pm. If security deems it is safe, vehicles may be allowed to leave earlier than that, but it is their call.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, July 15 (April 29th for discounted rate) unless spaces are filled prior to that date. Checks received after spaces are filled will be returned. Otherwise, we regret that there can be no refunds. We will try to assign you the same space you held at the last fair unless you write us indicating you would prefer another space. We will do our best to accommodate you.

The 2022 Calendar – Military History in Pittsfield – is Now Available!

This year’s theme is “Military History in Pittsfield”. From the American Civil War through the war in Vietnam, this military-themed calendar reflects the battles and the service people who affected the Town of Pittsfield and its residents for more than 100 years. As with all the Historical Society’s calendars, there is a brief history explaining each picture!
